Membership Levels

 

The Celestials has finally come to the point where it must begin to charge dues.  Please note that Level I membership is still free, though the member will not receive as many benefits.  Over the upcoming years we will continue to offer more incentives and benefits to each level of membership, though if Celestials is to survive and move forward, it has no choice. 

Once you have chosen your level of membership you will need to send in an e-mail stating your choice.  You may send in payments for paid levels to:

Those that have already paid on other levels of membership will have their payments transferred to the level of their choice.

Members that have made purchases of supplies or course materials will not receive a refund concerning the now provided discounts, though an additional discount shall be applied to their next purchase, whether it be supplies, an item from the shop or on their next course book. 

So, what do the dues cover?  Are these lining someone’s pockets?  No, currently every level of Celestials is a completely volunteer position, though we would like to change this some day.  Currently the funds are needed for the following purposes:

 

Celestial Bills:  Our web server, phone bills (which are on a set limit, these are not personal calls, strictly business), utilities, loan repayments, legal services, and governmental filings.

 

A Building:  Actually it would be nice to have several of these including LAND, but for now we at least need to get one up and going.

 

What have we done in the past to raise funds or cut costs before we decided to charge for membership?

 

Build Our Temple Fundraiser

Direct Requests from our members.

Charged our council members dues.  And they are the volunteers.

Lady Rras and Lord SilverDragon took the money from their pockets to pay for the server, purchase office supplies, and all utility bills.

Members from council provided their own supplies and paid for their own long distance calls.

 

 

Thus, we have come to the conclusion that it is time for dues, but we haven’t forgotten that not everyone has something to give.  We appreciate any type of donation that can be sent at all times, including your time.  Please review each level carefully, and feel free to write directly to:

All Memberships

 

• Members are listed in the database and on the website.
• Beside the Hearth, the quarterly newsletter included with membership.
• Special announcements.
• Invitations to celebrations.
• Invitations to local circles and gatherings.
• Spiritual counseling.
• And many other things.

 

 

Level I: Free Membership

 

Membership fee: $00.00

 

• We will also offer the membership card to those at this level for an additional fee.
• Receive a monthly announcement of the posting of the online magazine The Mystic Hearth with lead in articles and advertisements.
• The Basics of Magick and Paganism in URL format if desired or a printed copy can be purchased through The Sacred Hearth.
• Level I Member will only be able to advance to Year One Initiate, or Year XX membership, no other certification except through private instruction or ordination upon approval and completion of necessary steps to obtain. 

 

 

Level II: Basic Membership

 

Membership fee: $25.00 per year, based on join date

 

• The membership card is free.
• Receive a monthly announcement of the posting of the online magazine The Mystic Hearth with lead in articles and advertisements, a 10% discount on all of the Basic courses as well as 5% on other approved Celestial materials – a list will be forthcoming.
• Membership also covers the Yearly Completion Certificates for classes and does allow for members to continue on in their instruction. 

 

 

Level III: Standard Membership

 

Membership fee: $50.00 per year, based on join date

 

• The membership card is free. 
• Receive a monthly announcement of the posting of the full version online magazine The Mystic Hearth with a 5% discount on the printed version, a 10% discount on all of the Basic courses as well as 5% to 10% discount on other approved Celestial materials – a list will be forthcoming. 

• Receive 5% off the cost of upper level courses.

• Membership also covers the Yearly Completion Certificates for classes and does allow for members to continue on in their instruction. 

 

 

Level IV: Premier Membership

 

Membership fee: $100.00 per year, based on join date

 

• The membership card is free.
• Receive a monthly announcement of the posting of the full version online magazine The Mystic Hearth with a 10% discount on the printed version, a 15% discount on all of the Basic courses as well as 15% to 25% discount on other approved Celestial materials – a list will be forthcoming. 
• Receive 15% off the cost of upper level courses.
• Receive 25% off the cost of all mini courses. (Information will soon be found in the Educational section of the Main Site).

• Membership also covers the Yearly Completion Certificates for classes and does allow for members to continue on in their instruction. 

 

 

Junior Council Members:

 

• No application fee, no yearly council dues. 
• Membership dues will be discounted by 10%.
• All other discounts based on level of membership.

 

 

Secondary Council Members:

 

• $10.00 yearly application fee for processing. 

• Membership dues will be discounted by 20%.
• All other discounts based on level of membership.

 

 

Main Council Members:

 

• $20.00 yearly application fee for processing.

• Membership dues will be discounted by 20%.

• Basics, Upper, and Mini courses and supplies discounted by 20%. 

• Membership also covers the Yearly Completion Certificates for classes and does allow for members to continue on in their instruction. 

• All other discounts based on level of membership.

 

 

Board of Directors:

 

• $40.00 yearly application fee.

• Membership dues and other application fees will be discounted by 50%.

• Basics, Upper, and Mini courses and supplies discounted by 25%. 

• Membership also covers the Yearly Completion Certificates for classes and does allow for members to continue on in their instruction. 

• All other discounts based on level of membership.

 

 

Church/Congregation/Coven/Grove/Circle:

 

The above listed dues are not in conjunction with any circle or coven dues established by other groups, though a consideration will be made concerning level membership dues if you are an active member.  More information concerning this will soon be posted in the Congregation Section of the Main Site.

 

The following are accomplished by submitting an application through the Join section of the Main Site.  After your group has been approved fees will apply.

 

Circles/Groves: 

 

• $10.00 application fee (refundable during the first 90 days after circle is accepted)
• $15.00 per year circle fee for processing. 
• Benefits To Be Determined.

 

Covens: 

 

• $10.00 application fee (refundable for 60 days after acceptance)
• $20.00 per year coven fee for processing. 
• Benefits To Be Determined.

 

Congregations: 

 

• $35.00 application fee (non-refundable)
• $20.00 a year processing fee. 
• Benefits To Be Determined.

(The first congregation formed through a church is established for free and will remain as such as long as it remains in good standing.)

 

Churches/Temples:

 

• $35.00 application fee (non-refundable)
• $20.00 a year processing fee. 
• Benefits To Be Determined.

Clarifications:

 

Discounts, dues and fees are not cumulative.  For instance:  A member of the Board of Directors pays the $40.00 application fee and receives 50% discount on membership… if the Director selects to be a Level 4 member then the total amount due would be $90.00 and would receive the higher rate of discounts per each program.  Directors receive 25% discount on courses, and yet they would only receive the 10% magazine discount and the 10%-25% discount on other materials…. Not 35% for the magazine. 

 

Application fees are first, followed by membership level selection for complete information on benefits.  The best benefit is then chosen.

 

If you purchased any supplies or course materials since January 1^st, 2002 a reduction will be placed in affect reflecting the discount per your level of membership.

 

Membership fees and dues will be processed according to the 1^st of the Month of the members join date.  If you joined in September for example and yet sign up for a membership level in August you will not receive a reminder in September of that year, but you will the following year… we do not double charge in a calendar year.

 

If you wish to upgrade your level of membership within the year you only pay the difference in membership levels, the discounts are not retroactive though.

 

Members (not council level, this will be covered in the council paperwork… regular memberships are being discussed here) may not drop down in Level of Membership during the year…. this can only be done at their yearly anniversary date.

 

As we update membership plans with benefits and more clarity you as members will be notified.  These packets will soon be added to the site in the Members Only section.
